About Fishwater

Fishwater Guide Co. was built around a simple idea:

A good day on the water doesn’t happen by accident.

It comes from preparation, pattern recognition, patience, and a willingness to adjust when conditions change.

Captain Jonathan Zaludek has over 20 years of experience fishing in the Gulf, studying seasonal movement, tide behavior, wind patterns, and how subtle shifts affect fish behavior along the Texas coast. That experience shapes every decision made on the boat.

There’s no script. Just reading the water.

Why Fishwater

The name reflects something simple.

Water is never static. It shifts. It teaches. It rewards attention.

Fishwater exists for people who want to experience that process fully — not just the outcome, but the decisions, the adjustments, and the rhythm of the day.

This isn’t about chasing numbers or proving something. It’s about letting the water guide the experience.

Where We Fish

Trips run throughout the Coastal Bend region of Texas, typically launching from the Port Aransas area and surrounding waters, depending on conditions and season.

Shallow flats, grass lines, moving tides, jetties, open water transitions — the day unfolds based on what the water is showing.

The focus stays on reading conditions and making thoughtful decisions, not forcing a plan that doesn’t fit.

A Good Fit

Fishwater tends to resonate with anglers who:

• Enjoy learning
• Appreciate preparation
• Trust the guide’s process
• Care about quality and fish handling

If that sounds like you, we’d be glad to fish together.

The Boat

Fishwater runs on a Mowdy shallow-water skiff built for the conditions of the Texas coast.

Designed to navigate skinny water while maintaining stability and ride quality, the Mowdy allows access to flats, shorelines, and transition areas throughout the Coastal Bend that larger boats simply can’t reach.

It’s quiet when it needs to be. Responsive when it matters. Efficient in changing conditions.

The layout is clean and organized, with room for up to four guests to fish comfortably without crowding. Every detail on board is set up with intention — from rod placement to deck space — so the focus stays on fishing, not maneuvering around clutter.
